My maid of honor is getting introduced at my wedding and has to have a funny or embarrassing moment, story or weird thing abotu them. hers si that she is always pitting out…but i wanted to say like, liz pitts out like…and then a joke to go with it so it’s more funny….

My maid of honor needs a little help with her wedding toast. I’m having toast instead of speeches, so that my wedding party isn’t up talking too long. Do you have a tips for her? Thank you
Crucial – keep it short! It will make it much easier on her and the guests.
I gave an MOH toast a couple of weeks ago. I described the moment when I knew the bride and groom were right for each other. I decided to go with sweet instead of trying to crack jokes.
Practice, practice, practice. I did the toast for my boyfriend, for the other bridesmaids, and about 50 times in front of my mirror – and I was still nervous!

I am the maid of honor for my brother and his fiance’s wedding that is on August 16th. I have been dreading giving a speech because I do not do well speaking in front of large crowds. I also have no idea what to say. Does anybody have any good advice, or a website that will have examples of other maid of honor speeches that people have given so I can have some sort of a template? Please help…I really want them to know I put time into it

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. It is an honor to be here tonight to toast bride as she takes another step in life’s journey and joins groom in holy matrimony. I have had the pleasure of working with bride at ****** for several years and in that time, we have developed an uncanny ability to know what the other is thinking to the point of sometimes scaring people . However bride, I still have some unexpected surprises for even you!
I was over at bride and groom last week and asked bride if she had everything in place or needed anything done. As usual, she had everything under control. However, I asked her if she was planning to do the something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue tradition and she said they weren’t going to bother with that. At the time, I didn’t think too much of it, but as the days passed, I began to realize every bride needs a little something old, new, borrowed and blue on their special day. So bride, here we have it!
For something old, I have found a book of inspirational quotes on love, some dating back decades and maybe even centuries, for those days when you need a little reminder of just how much you love each other. I would like to read a favorite one of mine though that I have written in the back for you by my 91 year old grandma. “Sing and pray together and you will stay together” I have always loved this one as no matter the sound that comes out, only the one you truly love will think it the loveliest sound on earth.
For something new, I thought a bottle of Saskatoon Berry Sparkling cider was fitting for you to toast your new family whether it be on a one week, one month or even one year anniversary.
The something borrowed you have already – the knife set to cut your cake. It comes with a special wish from the person who lent it to you. “May your marriage be as sweet as the cake you cut. Bless you on your special day and always remember the love you have for each other”!
Something blue was a bit trickier. What could be fitting for such a day? And then it hit me walking through ******* – blue whales. What day is complete without a little candy! And in the event you don’t want to share with groom, son, daughter and son, we have a bag just for you guys too.
The most significant thing I noticed though when I was at bride and groom last week was the special bond they have and the jovial sense that radiates from them when they are together. They know how to laugh together, even when the situation probably doesn’t seem the funniest, and they know how to make each other laugh when they know the other needs it the most!
May you continue to laugh together, share together, love together, be a family together and remember – being deeply loved by someone gives you strength; loving someone deeply give you courage! Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in a toast to two happy and wonderful people bride and groom!
This was the speech I wrote for my friend for her wedding last year. Short and not a traditional speech but worked for the situation. Please don’t get up and cry how your friend has been with you through this trauma and that trauma (if that is the case). Keep it light make it funny, and to get over nerves, read it OFTEN and in front of a friend or two!! Good luck and best wishes. I hope this helps a bit!

im going to be 21 next month and my mom is 46. she told me today that shes getting married next july. she asked me to be the maid of honor. well, ive never been to a wedding before and i don’t know anything about them. what exactly is the maid of honor supposed to do?
maid of honor takes care of all of the "little things" in preparation to the big day. She sets up and hosts the bacholorette party, she organzises the bridal shower. The maid of honor is on hand to help the bride pick out dresses, cake, flowers, everything pertaining to the ceremony. She makes sure invitations are sent out on time, makes sure all arrangements for the wedding are completed and last but not least makes sure the bride gets to the wedding and down the aisle.
