Funny maid of honour speeches

Is it Ok for maid of honour speeches to be funny? Of course it is. As a matter of fact it’s important to throw in a few jokes in there.

It is essential for any wedding speeches to be funny. It doesn’t have to be fun and jokes, but funny maid of honour speeches are a great crowd-pleaser – so long as you don’t go overboard offend anyone.
I wanted to be funny in my speech, but I still kept it in my mind to be considerate of anyone’s feelings at the same time. The bride’s father already said his speech, so I wanted to thank him for that and not tread on his toes and insulting him or his daughter!

So what are the secrets to good humor speech?

Using humor is a great way to get everyone listening properly. I would use it at times when I thought I needed to grab people’s attention. Well, as we all know in any maid of honor toast, the bride should be the main centre of attention and you should always remember to keep it that way, as well as directed to her new to be hubby the groom, of course!

The best way to use this tactic in my experience is to interject your regular speech with a few good jokes. If you share a history with the bride (in most cases you would that’s why you are the maid of honor), there’s no doubt that you have some dirt on her. With a playful approach, the best stories can become part of your funny maid of honor wedding speech. Be mindful of the bride’s sense of humor (does she really want you bringing up embarrassing moments from her past?) try to avoid mentioning any of her recent boyfriends haha. Maybe the boy she kissed in kindergarten is a fair game.
