Special Bridesmaid titles… ideas?

September 6, 2010

I just got engaged and want to send out silly "Will you be my bridesmaid?" cards. I really want to give each BM a special title b/c I had a hard time choosing a MOH. There are 6 – please help!

I already have a maid of honor, Matron of Honor, and "Secret Assistant to the MOH" (inside joke, she’ll love it!). But the other 3…help!

One is my oldest sister. She’s a little young to handle the MOH status but I still want to give her a special role in the bridal party.

Next, my youngest sister who would most accurately be described as Jr. BM. Any cute titles that will make her feel important?

Thirdly, is my future sister-in-law. We don’t know each other super-well yet and I want to use the planning to get closer. I was thinking of calling her the "Bridal Secretary" or something of that nature. I think she’ll be very happy to help w/ all the invitation mailing and such. Any better ways of putting this? Or how can I work "maid" or "matron" in (she’s married)?

Thanks! I want this to be fun!

I would call your sister-in-law something like "Vice President of Interfamily Relations" or "Senior Ambassador to the Smith Family" or something funny like that.

Promise The Stars’ 106

September 6, 2010

After dinner, I along with Taylor helped Danielle take the dishes back to the kitchen. “I guess we’ll be going to the den, then,” said Joe as him and his brother turned to go watch more TV. Taylor was too fast for them though.

“Hold it,” she said. “Just because Riley can make sexist jokes doesn’t mean we all agree to it. I want you guys to help us now.”

The boys couldn’t argue with at that in fear we would kill, so they trudged back to the kitchen. Danielle leaned against the counter arguing with Kevin about what to put in the refrigerator and what to throw away. Taylor and Joe were acting cute and lovey dovey while they washed dishes together. I sat on the kitchen counter stool, watching them. Nick walked over with a sponge and started wiping the counter. I look at his focused face and I felt my evil smile creep out.

“You missed a spot,” I said. He looked at me. I pointed to a random spot and he wiped it without look at it. “Still there.” He wiped again, keeping eye contact with me. “It’s still there.” He wiped again with more force. “You missed, calm down.” He went all out with the cleaning and grunted as he walked away before I could say anything again.

Once we all cleaned up, we trooped out to the backyard. My stupid bladder and its peeing issues caused me to come out last so the only possible place to sit was next to Nick. I shouldn’t been shocked or angry. Fade already had it for me. I took my seat and hugged my knees on the long lawn chairs.

“You guys all set for the rehearsal dinner?” asked Kevin.

“Are you kidding me? If one thing goes wrong, I’ll kill bitches,” replied Taylor.

“That’s what we’re doing a rehearsal for,” I said chuckling.

“Why are you nervous?” asked Nick laughing with me.

“This is my wedding with the person I’m going to spend the rest of my life with. I want it to be special,” she replied. Joe smiled as he intertwined their fingers. “I love him.” She said the last part looking into his eyes. Kevin and Danielle took this as a cue and started cuddling. Nick and I on the other hand were awkwardly looking as if they expected us to do something. My ears were on fire.

This was all part of some evil plan or some conspersey theory against me. Time for my great escape.

“I’m going to go home. I’m super tired. See you guys tomorrow!” I said quickly getting up. “Night!”

I ran out of the yard as they all yelled back a confused goodnight to me. I hopped in my car and drove back to my house.

The rehearsal dinner is a pretty pointless thing to me. I mean, I guess it is satisfaction for the bride that everything would go fine. But I hate repeating things. I got there around 12:30 pm. We were to dress up nicely but we didn’t have to wear our wedding dresses. I came in a white strapless dress which fit tightly around my breasts and flowed in a nice way down above my knees. Since, I am not fit for heels; Taylor excused me and let me wear black flats with it.

The place was buzzing with people. Everyone was taking their seats while the minister spoke with Taylor’s dad and Mr. Jonas about the process. I walked to the back where all the bridesmaid, groomsmen, maid of honor, ring bearer, etc all stood. Taylor was in a long white silk gown that was looked just as gorgeous as her real wedding dress does.

“Riley!” she cried when she saw me roaming around. My eyes grew big in surprise and shock when she called me and I ran over to her.

“What?” I asked.

“Do you know who you’re walking down the aisle with?” she asked.

“No,” I cried.

“It was supposed to be you and Nick,” she said.

“NO!” I yelled.

“I know…,” she said. “So, I paired him with one of my cousins. You’re walking down with one of Joe’s friends. JAMES!”

I turned around. James was a hot fuck.

He had a head full of brown shaggy hair. He also had a bit of stubble and amazing green eyes. I wanted to do him right then and there. That was how attractive he is. He sauntered over and smiled at me. I smiled back feeling my flirt come on. “James, this is Riley. Riley, this is James. He’s one of Joe’s best friends. You two have to walk down the aisle together. Okay? Okay!” Taylor said before running off to freak some more people out.
